SERIAL BLOG STARTER
I love making GIFs, and I love lots of older games, so I have built many, many social media accounts over the years to post and promote classic games in GIF and artwork form.
For each blog, I’ve built bots to run and maintain them - building all the content, and letting it randomly choose from GIFs, Videos and Images each day.
These have been supported by my own love for doing it, and a small Patreon to help with it. Doing this grew to working with SEGA directly to make content for their own accounts, and helping some games use the data - Sonic Origins collection for example uses my scans.
Sonic The Hedgeblog
Discover the secrets, GIFs, photos and scans around the world of Sonic The Hedgehog.
I am a big fan and collector of Sonic The Hedgehog games and mechendise. This includes GIFs from stages, video clips, concept art and more.
As of July 2023 it has 93,000 followers on Twitter.
NINTENDO METRO
Posting daily GIFs of games from Nintendo’s past, and games that were on Nintendo systems. When the Nintendo “gigaleak” occured, I would post daily posts about all the discoveries found in these files.
As of July 2023 it has 17,000 followers on Tumblr and Twitter.
VIDEO GAME ART ARCHIVE
For the past 10 years I’ve been scanning in and extracting artwork from old video game manuals and asset discs, and posting them online for others to see and use. Using Photoshop, I can clean up these at high resolutions.
These have been used with SEGA officially as well - with artwork from those manuals used online for SEGA Forever, or in books like the Sonic Encyclo-Speed-ia and SEGA Genesis Collected Works.
As of July 2023, this has 40,000 followers on Tumblr, and 30,000 on Twitter.
OLD GAME MAGS
For over 10 years I have been running this blog - taking ads and articles from old video game magazines, and posting them online in a way that’s easily readable to other users.
As of July 2023 it has 40,000 followers on Tumblr, and 10,000 on Twitter.
KIWI GAME DEVS
While working in New Zealand, I found that a lot of developers don’t really push that their games were developed in the country. I decided to work and make a list of every game made in the country, and then have a bot post about one each day.
Aussie Made Games
After making Kiwi Game Devs, I moved onto making a similar account for games made in my home country of Australia! It posts a new Australian made game every day, dating back to old mobile phones and Commdore 64 games.
